What Happens If I Miss Days of My Dog's Daily Probiotic?

Short answer: give the normal dose the next morning and carry on — never double up to "catch up". What matters isn't any single scoop, it's the run: our figure that 8 out of 10 dog parents notice visible improvement within 3–4 weeks comes from daily use, so judge your pack by the mornings the scoop actually went in, not the days since you opened it. Below: one missed day, a week, a month off, "every three days", and how to make the scoop stick.

Missed one morning? Here's the rule

Next morning, the normal dose, mixed into breakfast as usual. That's it.

Don't double up. The dose is set by your dog's weight (½ scoop a day up to 10 kg, 1 scoop for 11–25 kg, 2 scoops from 26 kg), and a whole scoop in a 6 kg Shih Tzu's breakfast is twice what we recommend for that dog. There is nothing to make up; the next morning is simply the normal dose. Full chart by weight: how much to scoop →

Why the daily run matters more than any single scoop

Every number we publish about results comes from parents giving it every morning. "8 out of 10 dog parents notice visible improvement within 3–4 weeks of daily use" — daily is in that sentence for a reason. The order things change in is a daily-use timeline too: the tummy first (firmer potty, less gas in the first 1–2 weeks), then scratching and paw-licking easing around Day 21–28, then the Day 30 checkpoint, with the gut still improving after that. Chronic cases may need 60 days.

We have no data on every-second-day or every-third-day use, and we won't pretend to. So the honest position is: the 3–4 weeks counts days actually given. Miss a week, and your Day 30 is a week later. That isn't a penalty; it's arithmetic.

"Is once every three days enough?"

A real question from our call notes, and the honest answer is no. Once every three days is a third of the daily dose, on a schedule we have never measured. It is also how a pack ends up still half full at month's end. If daily feels like a lot, go smaller rather than rarer: half a scoop stirred into wet food is a ten-second job.

What to do after a gap

The gap What to do How we'd count it
One morning Normal dose the next morning. Never double up. Keep counting.
Two or three days Same: normal dose the next morning, with food. Keep counting; your Day 30 moves back by the days you missed.
A week or more Normal dose the next morning, never double up. Count only the mornings the scoop went in, so your Day 30 moves back by the days you missed.
Stopped after two days Start again the next morning at the normal dose for your dog's weight (you are still inside the half-dose first week, so half). Count only the mornings the scoop went in: two so far, so the restart is Day 3.

Notice the rule never changes with the size of the gap: next morning, normal dose, never double up. We have no data on what a gap costs, so we won't dress a guess up as a rule — we simply count the mornings the scoop went in.

Your pack is a calendar

"I haven't given it regularly and still have plenty left." That line is straight from our call notes, and the pack itself tells the story. One 120g pouch is 15 scoops: about 30 days for a dog up to 10 kg, about 15 days for 11–25 kg, about a week from 26 kg up. So if it's Day 30 on the calendar and a small dog's pouch is still half full, the scoop went in on roughly 15 mornings — and that, not the date on your order, is the day you're really on.

The leftover powder is fine to carry on with — keep the pouch resealed, cool and dry, out of direct sunlight — so go daily from tomorrow and judge at your real Day 30, not the calendar's.

Gaps between packs

A different kind of gap: the pouch runs out before the next one arrives. Delivery usually takes about 5 days, so order when the pouch is about a week from empty (the last 3 or 4 scoops for a small dog, the last 7 for a medium one). If your dog is 26 kg or more, one pouch is only a week, so buy 2 or 4 at a time — a per-pouch discount applies automatically at checkout, prepaid orders ship free, and COD is available. How to make the scoop stick

The routine breaks at the bowl far more often than at the calendar. On our follow-up calls — 72 households with a usage update between mid-August and mid-September 2026, notes read by hand — 13 said their dog was fussy about the powder, and 10 of those stopped: about 1 in 7. Call notes, not a study, but they point at what to change. Make the scoop part of breakfast, not a separate event:

  • Same meal, every day. The morning meal, with a little wet food — dogs are least fussy at breakfast, wet food hides the powder, and food is easier on the stomach.
  • Same bowl. The powder goes in before the food does. The bowl becomes the reminder.
  • Scoop next to the food bin. Keep the 8 g scoop in the pouch and the pouch beside the kibble or the fridge — wherever breakfast comes from. If you have to go looking for it, it gets skipped.
  • Tick a chart. If you bought two or more pouches, the free Gut Reset guide we email you ends with a printable 30-day chart. On the fridge, it makes a missed day visible the same day.

You're not doing this alone: every purchase comes with a Pet Care Expert call within 24 hours, check-ins on Day 3, 7, 14 and 21, and a human on WhatsApp at +91 80507 70671 in between. If the scoop has slipped, say so on the check-in — we'll help you restart, not judge you.

What real customers say about sticking with it

From genuine reviews on the product page — each one about the run, not a single day:

★★★★★"Random diarrhoea, no clear reason. After using this consistently, things became stable."
★★★★★"My dog’s itching reduced a lot after regular use."
★★★★"I almost stopped using it after 10 days because I didn’t see any difference. But continued anyway."

FAQ

I forgot my dog's probiotic yesterday. Should I give a double scoop today?

No. Give the normal dose the next morning, mixed into breakfast, and carry on. Never double up — the dose is set by your dog's weight, and there is nothing to make up.

Is giving the probiotic once every three days enough?

No. It is a once-a-day dose, and our 3–4 week timeline comes from daily use; we have no data on every-third-day use. Count only the mornings the scoop went in, and go daily from tomorrow.

We stopped after two days. Do we have to start over?

No. Start again the next morning at the normal dose for your dog's weight (you are still inside the half-dose first week, so half), and count only the mornings the scoop went in — two so far, so the restart is Day 3, not Day 1.

Does a gap between packs undo the progress?

We don't have data on what a gap costs, so we won't guess. What we do know is that the 3–4 week timeline counts days actually given, so a gap moves your Day 30 back. Order when the pouch is about a week from empty; delivery usually takes about 5 days.

A month in and I still have most of the pack left. Is that a problem?

It means the scoop went in on fewer mornings than 30. Work out your real day count from the scoops used (½, 1 or 2 a day by weight), keep the pouch resealed, cool and dry, then go daily and judge at your real Day 30.

Next morning, normal dose, never double. One scoop a day. 30-day guarantee.
