How Long Does One Pack Last, and Can Two Dogs Share It?

Short answer: one 120g VitalPaws pouch holds 15 scoops: about 30 days for a dog up to 10 kg (½ scoop a day), about 15 days for 11–25 kg (1 scoop) and about 7 days for 26 kg and above (2 scoops). Two dogs can share a pouch — dose each by its own weight and add the scoops: two small dogs take 1 scoop a day between them, so their pouch lasts about 15 days.

What is in one pouch, and how long it lasts

The pouch is 15 level scoops of the 8 g measuring scoop packed inside it. The dose goes by your dog's weight, not the breed name — a 12 kg Indie is 1 scoop even if she looks small — so how long a pouch lasts is simple division:

Your dog Daily dose 1 pouch (15 scoops) 2 pouches (30) 4 pouches (60)
Up to 10 kg (Shih Tzu, Pug) ½ scoop about 30 days about 60 days about 120 days
11–25 kg (Beagle, Indie) 1 scoop about 15 days about 30 days about 60 days
26 kg and above (Golden, GSD) 2 scoops about 7 days about 15 days about 30 days

The first week is at half the dose, so your first pouch stretches a few days past the table. And 1 scoop a day is the 11–25 kg dose: give that to a 6 kg dog and the pouch is gone in about 15 days, at double the cost. The full chart is on our dose guide.

For most people reading this, one pouch is about a month: of the 258 households that have told us their breed, 66% are Shih Tzu homes — our own customer record, not a survey of dog parents in general.

Sharing one pouch between two or more dogs

Yes, and nothing about serving it changes: each dog gets its own dose once a day, mixed into its own morning meal, ideally with a little wet food. Dose each dog by weight, then add the scoops up — the total decides how fast the pouch empties and how many pouches cover 30 days for the house.

Your dogs Scoops a day, added up One pouch lasts For 30 days
Two dogs up to 10 kg each ½ + ½ = 1 about 15 days 2 pouches
Two dogs of 11–25 kg 1 + 1 = 2 about 7 days 4 pouches
One small, one medium, one large ½ + 1 + 2 = 3½ about 4 days 7 pouches

Two notes for a multi-dog house:

  • A puppy counts as a dog. Puppies can start from 2 months and are dosed by weight like any other dog; when a pup crosses 10 kg, its dose moves from ½ scoop to 1.
  • Keep separate notes. Our check-ins on Day 3, 7, 14 and 21 are far more useful when you can say how each dog is doing.

How many pouches to order for a fair 30-day run

Day 30 is the refund checkpoint, and 8 out of 10 dog parents notice visible improvement within 3–4 weeks of daily use. So the honest first order is whatever covers 30 days for your household, not one pouch to see how it goes.

  • One dog up to 10 kg: 1 pouch.
  • One dog of 11–25 kg: 2 pouches.
  • One dog of 26 kg and above: 4 pouches.
  • Two or more dogs: read it off the table above.

Buy 2 or 4 pouches and a per-pouch discount applies automatically at checkout — exactly the 30-day quantities for a medium and a large dog. For a bigger household, or a long-standing itch that may need 60 days, message us on WhatsApp at +91 80507 70671 and we will work the quantity out with you.

Each purchase includes a Pet Care Expert call within 24 hours that goes over breed, weight and the dose, a 1:1 vet teleconsult with Dr. Anvesh Chakravarthy (B.V.Sc & A.H., PetPulse Clinic), check-ins on Day 3, 7, 14 and 21, and a breed WhatsApp group.

Why one week on a shared pouch tells you nothing yet

A real question behind this guide: can two dogs share one pouch for a week, then judge? Two medium dogs will empty a pouch in about a week — but that is seven doses each, before the point where most parents see anything. The tummy settles first, with firmer potty and less gas in the first 1–2 weeks; scratching and paw-licking ease around Day 21–28. A pouch that ran out in a week has reached neither point, so it only tells you whether the dogs ate it. Give each dog the full 30 days, then judge.

From genuine reviews on the product page — not all dogs will match these, but they are real:

★★★★"I almost stopped using it after 10 days because I didn’t see any difference. But continued anyway."
★★★★★"It took around 2–3 weeks to see results, but it worked."
★★★★"Works gradually. Don’t expect overnight results."

If your pouch is lasting longer, or shorter, than it should

Another real question from a follow-up call: the previous pack was not finished yet — how long should one last? A dog up to 10 kg on ½ scoop should finish a pouch in about 30 days; an 11–25 kg dog in about 15. If you are at Day 30 with most of a pouch left, check three things:

  • The scoop. Use the 8 g scoop from the pack, level, not a kitchen teaspoon.
  • Missed days. Give a missed day the next morning, never doubled up — a pouch lasting twice as long as the table says means the routine is landing every other day.
  • Still on the half dose. Half the dose is for the first week only.

The opposite — a pouch gone in about 15 days for a dog under 10 kg — is 1 scoop a day going in, the 11–25 kg dose; drop back to ½ scoop. Either way, store the pouch cool and dry, away from direct sunlight, and reseal it after each use.

FAQ

How long should a 240g pack last for a 22 kg dog?

A 22 kg dog is in the 11–25 kg band: 1 scoop a day. A 240g pack holds 30 scoops, so about 30 days; the 120g pouch sold today holds 15, so two pouches cover the same 30 days.

Can I judge results from one pack shared between two dogs in a week?

No. Shared between two dogs a pouch empties in one to two weeks, before most parents see a change: the tummy settles first and scratching eases around Day 21–28. Give each dog 30 days before you judge — that is also the refund checkpoint.

How do I split one pack across three dogs of different sizes?

Dose each dog by its own weight (½ scoop up to 10 kg, 1 scoop for 11–25 kg, 2 scoops for 26 kg and above) and add them up. One dog of each size is 3½ scoops a day, so a 15-scoop pouch lasts about 4 days and 30 days needs 7 pouches.

My previous pack is not finished yet. Am I under-dosing?

Possibly. A dog up to 10 kg on ½ scoop a day should finish a pouch in about 30 days, an 11–25 kg dog in about 15. If a lot is left at Day 30, check that you are using the 8 g scoop from the pack, level, and not skipping days.

Does the powder keep once the pouch is opened?

Reseal it after each use and keep it cool and dry, away from direct sunlight — that is the storage line on the pack. Even a small dog finishes a pouch in about a month, so it never sits open for long.

One pouch, 15 scoops, dosed by weight. Cover 30 days for each dog. 30-day guarantee.
